2017-10 October Tour in the Palatinate

Since my move went almost without a hitch, Bimbi and I could properly enjoy our first free weekend.

Originally we wanted to meet a few dearly beloved goofballs in a parking lot and head to the first trekking site together. But as with the previous tour, this didn't quite work out due to traffic jams.

2017-10 Long Weekend

Autumn is approaching and it was time for us to go on tour again. The P(f)alatines announced an October tour for the long weekend.

So for once the route planning was neither in my hands nor in Bimbi's.

2017-10 Finally Back Outdoors

In the last few months I had been outdoors far too little for my taste. Unfortunately, between the everyday duties, job hunting, the upcoming move and the final sprint of my part-time degree programme, there was no time for my hobby.

2017-07 Sweden Is Always Worth a Trip

It was now the fourth year in a row that the summer holidays drew me to Sweden. This year, I was very curious how this holiday would go. After all, the Hermannsweg was still in the bones of my foot months later. Bimbi was also very battered this time with her shoulder. So we decided that this year should be a little more senior-friendly. The result was several day trips that were to be linked together. The luxury of a few nights at a campsite with a warm shower and a toilet where the mosquitoes do not suck the blood out of your behind was also part of the rough plan.

2017-03 Hildesheim-Harz-Weg

During my first ultralight trekking weekend a few years ago in the region around Wohldenberg, a sign for the Hildesheim-Harz-Weg caught my eye. Once I was back home, I looked up information about the trail. The research showed that the trail runs 57 kilometres from Hildesheim to Hahausen on the north-western edge of the Harz, across the foothills of the Harz. Along the way, it passes several lovely places in the region. So it was clear that this trail would go on my to-do list. This weekend was free of appointments, so after a long time I was finally able to put this plan into action.

2017-01 Hiking in Mallorca

This year in January there was supposed to be a winter tour for Bimbi and me. One week in the Palatinate before I dive fully into my last exams. But the closer the long winter tour came, the greater my need for sun and good weather became. So I spontaneously suggested a trip to the south. After a brief analysis of the weather data three weeks before departure, we decided to go hiking in Mallorca. The current temperatures ranged between 15°C and 20°C, and there was sunshine in abundance. So no time to lose! This time we decided against tents. Bimbi's chosen day tours were spread all over the island, so a rental car was the obvious choice for getting from A to B without hassle. Add a small holiday flat for the night, and the conventional holiday is complete. From experience, our tours are always very chaotic, so why should it be any different this time?

2016-12 Year-End in the Odenwald

The past year had been marked, among other things, by many beautiful trips. That settled it: the year should end with a shared trip. Originally, several people were on board - unfortunately, something came up for me, so Bimbi and I headed to the beautiful Odenwald one day later than planned.

Since the first two stages of the Habichtswaldsteig had fascinated me so much, I could not rest and had to walk the remaining stages. So, no less than three weeks later, I continued my hike on this quality hiking trail.

2016-09 On the Wings of the Goshawk (Part 1)

It had not even been a week since the Sweden holiday had passed when the hiking bug had me fully in its grip again. I packed my things and set off on the Habichtswaldsteig. This is a hiking trail from Zierenberg to the Edersee with a total length of 85-110 km, depending on which of the extra loops you take. Timewise, I unfortunately had to split the trail into two stages, because covering this distance in one weekend including travel there and back is still a bit too much for me.
