To be able to cook on the trail, it is very helpful to have a stove that suits your plans. Here I present some of the commercially available stoves that have proven themselves with me recently.

Over the last few years I have cooked on a variety of stoves. Along the way my habits on tour kept changing. While for instant meals a small cup with about 400ml is enough for boiling water, I need a bit more volume for proper cooking.

Nomadic Trekker Ultra 004
The Nomadic Trekker Ultra is an ultralight wood gasifier. Like the Solo Stove, its design is borrowed from the ALB Forming Bush Buddy. Compared to the Solo Stove, however, there are a few differences. The Nomadic Trekker Ultra uses much thinner material and is therefore a good deal lighter.

Picogrill 85
The Picogrill 85 is a folding hobo stove with very low weight, a large burn chamber and high stability. The hobo itself weighs just 85 grams. In the complete package with the carrying pouch and the bracket for more stability, the stove's total weight is 120g with a flat pack size.

Solo Stove Wood Gasifier
The SoloStove is an efficient wood gasifier that allows pleasant cooking on the trail without carrying fuel. At 240g, the stove is a rather heavy model for a wood-burning stove.
