Solo Stove Wood Gasifier

The SoloStove is an efficient wood gasifier that allows pleasant cooking on the trail without carrying fuel. At 240g, the stove is a rather heavy model for a wood-burning stove.

The weight comes from the thick walls of the material. The stove is therefore very robust and does not need to be carried in a pot. Still, it is recommended to use a fitting pot for the stove to reduce the volume in your pack.

On the trail, a wood stove has the decisive advantage that fuel does not have to be carried for the entire trip.

Burning wood in the gasifier produces very little smoke. This can be seen clearly in the following pictures.

For lighting the stove, birch bark has worked best for me so far. A small amount is easily enough to get the stove going.

While lighting the stove there is a little smoke, but as soon as the secondary combustion starts, the smoke disappears.

You can see this very well here. Now the pot can be placed on the stove without it starting to smoke again.

After the pot is placed on the stove, no new smoke forms. The combustion is very efficient. This allows short cooking times with low fuel consumption.

All in all a good stove for the gourmet outdoor kitchen.
