2016-02 Odenwald & Water

At the weekend I was out and about in the beautiful Odenwald with my better half and an acquaintance.
We had a really nice tour of shorter length. The perfect starting point for the battered hoof!

On the way, in beautiful weather, we passed the game enclosure. Just strange that the crosshair between the antlers was missing on some animals... tsk tsk tsk, these even-toed ungulates have no general knowledge!

At least the sows and the boar were as expected:

The boar is always in a bad mood,
because his children are piglets.
Not only
the wife - the sow - alone,
but also the relatives... all pigs!

We continued through a sea of sun and shadow. The weather was a real dream, but see for yourselves - you just can’t help but fall for the water!

You have to cross seven bridges...

And we continued along the stream - after all, we still had to gain quite a few meters of elevation so that there could be a nice descent afterwards.

But the higher it goes, the more potential energy the water of the stream has, and it kept giving us breathtaking views. I could have stood there for hours playing with the exposure time to capture the play of the water. But as a photo tourist, you can’t stop the group every 3 meters.wink

On the left the water, on the right a play of sun and shadow combined with a misty backdrop was waiting for us - the organizer really spared no expense or effort to give us a spectacular hike.

At midday, cheese, ham, tea & coffee were quickly prepared. One of the ladies used the time for snapshots of repaired knives!

After we had gained many meters of elevation, they had to be given back again. So we went back through the Wolfsschlucht (Wolf’s Gorge). One of the most impressive spots I have ever seen. The descent was partly in the riverbed, which also made sure that the ankles in the sneakers were optimally cooled.

Unfortunately, steep abysses are hard to capture with a camera, but in this picture you can roughly sense it.

Simply breathtaking! heart

I love water, especially when it tastes this good!

Thanks for this magnificent tour, it was real quality time again!
