Clove Hitch
The clove hitch is a knot used to attach a line to an object. This knot is excellent for attaching a cord to a peg or stick so that it can be released quickly when taking down.
In the fire service context, this knot is also called a cow hitch.
Further possible uses are attaching the cord to the trekking poles for the ridge line on the A-frame tarp setup or also for attaching to the trekking pole.
This knot can be made in different ways, either tied or formed. As a rule, for trekking applications forming the knot is sufficient, which is why I will only cover forming this knot in this short video.
