Beeing on the trail means that you are off the grid. So keeping your devices charged is a difficult task. Even with solarpanels you have to calculate your energy consumption, the time between charging on the grid, the weather and other factors. To extend your possibilities solarpanels could be an option. In this category I will review some solarpanels which are used by me. I will test the weight, energy generation to identify when a solarpanel is useful and when a normal powerbank is the better option.

Nitecore NU10

The Nitecore NU 10 is a very good headlamp, made for ultralight trekking. The model is waterproof, rechargeable and offers a brightness that is perfectly sufficient for trekking. The headlamp weighs just 70 grams.

Breffo Spiderpodium

The Breffo Spiderpodium is an unusual smartphone tripod. It has eight arms with a non-slip surface made of a rubber-like material. Inside the arms there is a wire core. This way, the tripod’s actual shape can be adapted to the situation at hand.

As is well known, I am at odds with typing on touchscreens, so for blogging on the trail I had to find an alternative. It quickly became clear that I needed a real keyboard. For the keyboard I had the following requirements:
